
Getting Your PET Bottle Heating Just Right
If you’ve ever dealt with PET blowing machines, you know the struggle. If your thermal profile is off by even a hair, your preforms start warping or stressing. It’s a headache nobody needs. That’s why we make infrared heater bulbs specifically for Krones and other big OEM lines. We wanted to create a “plug and play” solution. No rewiring the oven, no hacking at the lamp holders—just pop the old one out and slide the new one in. Simple.
Let’s talk power
Most of our bulbs are built for high-voltage setups, usually 230V or 400V, depending on what your grid looks like. Here’s the trick: we balance the wattage against the length of the tube to get the heat density exactly where it needs to be. If you shove a 2500W tube into a short space, you’ll get a ton of heat, but you’re probably going to fry the filament if your airflow isn’t perfect. We’ve spent a lot of time calibrating the ohms so the lamp heats up fast without causing a massive current spike.
The build quality
We use heavy-wall quartz glass. Why? Because cheap glass bows when it gets hot. We can’t have that. Inside, there’s a halogen cycle that basically “recycles” the filament, which means the bulb lasts way longer than your standard lamp. For the ends, we stick to R7s or Sk15 connectors. They’re the gold standard for a reason. They fit tight, which means no arcing at the terminals and no scary sparks.
Real-world advice
Because we follow the original Krones dimensions, these fit about 95% of the blowing equipment out there. You can swap them during a planned stop and not spend your whole break worrying if they’ll actually fit. But a quick heads-up: higher-wattage lamps will make the inside of your oven hotter. Just make sure your cooling fans are clean and actually spinning. If they’re clogged with dust, you’re going to cook your surrounding wiring, and that’s a mess you don’t want to clean up.
