
When the heating tunnel starts to drift, you can’t afford to play guessing games. Preform temperature swing throws off wall thickness, invites brittleness, and pushes rejects up the line. We build heater blocks as direct-fit upgrades for Sidel, Krones, SIPA, Husky, SACMI, and Nissei ASB blow molders, using infrared emitters that hit OEM parameters right down to the watt and the millimeter. What matters under the hood These blocks run short-wave infrared halogen lamps in quartz tubes, tuned to the way PET absorbs heat. Power choices are straightforward: 1.2 kW, 1.5 kW, and 2.0 kW are standard. Voltages cover 230 V and 460 V, held within ±2%. Dimensions match OEM blocks, including common lengths of 300 mm, 350 mm, and 400 mm. We include R7s connectors and mounting brackets that drop into the existing rails. Emissivity and spectral output stay aligned with the original equipment, so preform heating repeats across zones without re-tuning the oven profile. Why it plays on the blow molder On the machine, consistent preform heating keeps stretch ratios stable and cuts down pinholes. Because the lamps match OEM power density, you keep the same cycle times and avoid overshoot that wastes energy. Expect fewer lamp changes—these units routinely run 5,000+ hours with less than 5% output drop—and lower kWh per thousand bottles thanks to faster thermal response and tighter zone control. A couple of shop-floor notes Installation is simple, but you have to check reflector alignment. Even a small offset shifts heat distribution and can create hot or cold bands. Also, if your line runs heavy color loads or thick walls, tell us up front. We can adjust the spectral profile so the lamps deliver the right heat without scorching the preform surface.
